This project is aimed at providing parents and school counselors with a quick resource guide to help identify markers of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder in early childhood.

OCD most often begins to develop in ages 6 - 9 years old. In young children, OCD often goes undiagnosed which can evolve into other disorders resulting from ritual behavior and anxieties (eating disorders, body dysmorphic disorder and major depressive disorder)

Many children don’t understand why they experience intrusive thoughts and are likely to hide their behaviors.

This project is only in its infancy. The International OCD Foundation is exploring new avenues and provides so many resources to help people of any life stage that encounters Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. The Worry Monster is not a new idea but the campaign I designed seeks to further the concept and use the worry monster as a communication channel  or signal for kids and their parents.   The stuffy acts a bridge or a signal that encourages participation, dentification, and ideally a safe space to talk about and work through big feelings together.
